Darren Waller Traded to New York Giants in Blockbuster Deal
From Las Vegas to the Big Apple
Darren Waller is officially a New York Giant
The New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders have agreed to a trade that will send tight end Darren Waller to the Giants, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. The Raiders will receive a 2023 third-round pick (100th overall) in exchange for Waller. The trade is a major addition for the Giants, who have been looking for a difference-maker at tight end. Waller is one of the most talented tight ends in the NFL, and he is coming off a season in which he caught 55 passes for 665 yards and two touchdowns. He will be a key target for quarterback Daniel Jones in the Giants' offense.
For the Raiders, the trade gives them some much-needed draft capital. They had just four picks in the first four rounds of the 2023 NFL Draft, and the third-round pick they acquired from the Giants will help them fill out their roster.
Waller is expected to join the Giants in New Jersey on Wednesday. He will be introduced to the media at a press conference later this week.
