Iga Świątek brushed aside Jessica Pegula to win the WTA Finals in straight sets on Monday and return to the top of the world rankings.

The 22-year-old breezed to a 6-1 6-0 victory in Fort Worth, Texas, to secure the biggest title of her career.

Świątek, who won the French Open, US Open and Miami Open this year, is now the world's top-ranked player for the second time in her career.

She is the youngest player to finish the year as world number one since Caroline Wozniacki in 2010.
